About the Author
I’ve always wanted to put my writing to use for more than technical plan and report writing for a living. There’s not much opportunity for adding a personal touch when writing test validation plans! No matter how many fifty cent words like “compliance, justification, support and verification” that are sprinkled into the text, there’s about a zero percent chance for my personality to shine through.
It’s true. If you were to sample 29 test records using a 95/90 confidence interval, zero percent of them would show personality in the writing. HA! Somewhere in the world, compliance people are rolling on the floor laughing right now…
That was my previous writing background, but now I’m throwing out the proper use of commas, ellipsis… and all other punctuation. I can write casually, and if I want to, I can run on with my sentences. I can even misspell (srsly) and live with the fact that my spellcheck is screaming at me with red squiggly lines. Hopefully I’ll be able to bring a smile or two to some faces along the way.
As of the end of 2015, I was laid off from work after 16 years and found myself on the search for a new job. I had been toying with the idea of starting a blog or website for a long time and at that point I finally had the opportunity and spare time to try it out. I certainly couldn’t afford to not have a day-job and I ended up finding a new opportunity after a few months. Those months off were valuable and allowed me time to research how to set up a blog and get the basic website in place. It was quite a learning curve! Fast forward again to the end of 2016, when I had some time off around the holidays and got back to work on what I’d started.
So here is my REAL background… I’m a (40-ish year old) wife and mother of two wonderful tween/teenage daughters. Most of what you will find on this blog are recipes that save us time and products that we love.
