It’s 5 of our favorite electronic gadgets that you didn’t know you needed until now!  If you haven’t already read it, it’s worth checking out my “About the Author” page to read the background on my blog.  In quick summary….  I’ve lost my job, have some time of my hands and always wanted to try blogging.  After much thought on the subject, I’ve decided I want to tell readers about some of my family’s favorite things in each post.

BEST MINI-MICROSCOPE

My younger daughter received the Zoomy for Christmas a year ago and she absolutely loves it!  It’s great for those curious kids who want to look at things a little closer.  You just plug it into the USB port on your computer and you have your own tiny microscope.  You can take pictures by clicking the button on top and the top half of the egg turns to focus the camera.  Warning to parents, don’t let your kid zoom in on your wrinkles, you may end up with a complex.

ALARM CLOCK FOR THOSE DIFFICULT TO WAKE KIDS

Do you have a teenager that is impossible to wake up?  We do!  I don’t know how she can sleep until noon on the weekends, but her 6 a.m. wake up time for school becomes quite a challenge.  Our answer?  This Sonic Alert alarm clock.  The white circular part goes under her mattress and vibrates the bed when the alarm goes off.  It also has an audible alarm with adjustable volume.

FAVORITE PHONE STAND

I’m using this phone stand right now!  It’s just the right size for fulfilling your Netflix fix while you work on your website :).  The kids usually put it on their nightstand so they can watch a show before bedtime.  Maybe if we got rid of the bedtime electronics, we wouldn’t need the Sonic Alert alarm clock?

RETRACTABLE PHONE CHARGER

We bought four of these about a year ago.  Unfortunately, it looks like the Everdigi brand is no longer available, but this one looks similar to ours.  They are really handy and I like that they coil back up to keep the kitchen counter looking more tidy.

TRAVEL POWER STRIP

Don’t you hate it when you’re at the airport or your hotel with the family and you have to fight for the most convenient electric outlet?  Say no more!  This one is small and is convenient for traveling.
